BBSA coaches are volunteers. All Head and Assistant Coaches are recommended by the League Commissioner and must be approved by the BBSA board.

Coaches and assistants must complete a Babe Ruth certfication course.

Once completed, the certfication is good for life at any level of Babe Ruth baseball/softball.

Coaches and assistants must pass a background check and complete an Abuse Prevention Training program.

The background check and APT program are good for two years.

Both the Babe Ruth certification and the Background Check/APT must be complete and valid before coaches are allowed to participate.
