2020 Brookfield Bandits 9U travel baseball tryouts

The Brookfield Bandits 9U travel baseball team will hold tryouts for the 2020 team on Oct 26th at 3:30 PM at Grey's Bridge field.  The rain date is Oct 27th. The tryouts are set up as such that an independent board will evaluate each player.  Top 12 make the team.  Please have your child wear their rec uniform from this year or a past year to the tryout.

A few things to keep in mind about the Bandits and the season. The main focus is on the players' development and having fun, however it is competitive at this age group.  Learning to win and lose is a part of the players' development.

As I am sure that many of you know the sad news,  that long time coach Carlos Rogers and his two sons, Lucas and Brian , both players in this league,  have suffered a terrible loss with the sudden passing of their wife and mother Kelly Rogers.

There are multiple efforts at this time occuring to help the Rogers family , if you want to help in anyway, there are two online platforms to either contribute or help make meals for the family.

- go fund me page:

Please keep the Rogers family in both your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time .

Mike Tamburino c/o Tambo Strong
Mike Tamburino has been a very long time volunteer for youth baseball in Bethel, please read about his situation below and please share.
In December 2016, the Tamburino Family received some devastating news. Mike Tamburino was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gherig’s Disease). ALS is a rare neurodegenerative, terminal disease where the nerve cells that control your muscles die. The cells connecting your brain to your muscles degenerate, leading to loss of mobility, loss of speech and eventually impact the ability to breathe. There is no treatment or cure. The average life expectancy is 2 to 5 years. Mike is only 45 years old. Mike is married with four wonderful children, Matthew, Joshua, David and Hannah.

If you know Mike, you know that he is extremely goofy and fun loving. You also know that he’s the kind of guy who does anything for anyone. He has such a huge heart and is a very hard worker.

The cost of medical care and equipment needed to support an ALS patient is tremendous. They are also seeking alternative treatments and supplements to help slow the progression. These can be extremely expensive.
Any money raised will go directly to Mike to help cover medical expenses.
Thank You for your support
